Letter of the Month
Good morning,
Shhh... please keep this a secret!
Now, please don't tell anyone, because I know you think I'm years younger, but I'm turning 50 shortly. Yes, that's right! I can hardly believe it either. But there comes a time when a woman has to face up to the facts, particularly when her husband says that he'll take her overseas on the trip of a lifetime to celebrate. [Or is that to commiserate?]
Bill and I will be away from mid-August for just on two months, and during that time my great team will look after you and all my clients to keep things running smoothly.
If I personally look after your Tax Return, it would help me immensely if you arrange to see me before the end of July. Bring what paperwork you have, even though you may not have it all. That means that I can prepare your Return, and it can be finalised whenever you have the balance of the paperwork.
This is by far the best way to ensure that your Tax Return is lodged early and you receive any refund promptly, or find out sooner how much you owe.
If that doesn't fit in with your plans, you can always see me when I'm back, and I'll prepare your return then.
Alternatively, you can let Simon have your paperwork whilst I'm away, but as he already has a pretty full workload it may mean some delay in completing your return.
I will prepare your Staff Payment Summaries and Work Cover Remuneration Declarations as usual prior to my departure so that you don't have any hassles. Company, Super Fund or Trust Tax Returns will be prepared, as is normal, later in the year after I return.
On a personal note, I must admit that I've got mixed feelings. Naturally I'm looking forward to the trip, but on the other hand I know that I'm going to miss you and all my clients and f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c team members. I'll sure take a little while to get used to not having to come in to the office!
Yours sincerely,
Trisha Cameron.
P.S. You'll be pleased to know that the Government's cheque for the $900 Tax Bonus will be sent to you shortly. It's paid as long as you lodged a Tax Return for the 07/08 year, and regardless of whether you paid tax or got a refund. |
