NEWS SCOOP: Max Walker apologises for the 'underarm' incident!
Recently Brian Kearney (the CEO of AHA Victoria), Peter Burnett (President AHA Vic) and and their AHA team organised a publican helping publican and their communities tour of the bush fire ravaged area of country Victoria. Dougal Hollis, from AHA Victoria, invited me to participate. I asked could I bring my good pal and cricketing legend Max Walker with me to visit five different pubs in five different areas.

We found that the publicans, their customers and the townsfolk of these bush fire ravaged areas need help NOW. They need us to visit their towns, their shops their pubs. They are 'open for business.'
At THEBestPub.com.au we are preparing a special page to focus on these areas, these pubs, these people. And, rather than concentrating on the horror side of the bush fires, we have included some merrier moments and stories about the pubs, publicans, people and places.
So, will YOU please help by forwarding this e-mail to your friends and/or your customer database.
THE NEWS SCOOP: On February 1st 1981, Max Walker played his last game of cricket for Australia. Unfortunately this was the game in which the infamous 'underarm incident' occurred when playing against New Zealand.
Just like Max, and most fair thinking Aussies, I was embarrassed at this un-sportsman like behaviour from an Aussie team. (They were booed off the field). My pal Dougal Hollis (a Kiwi) never lets me forget the underarm incident. So, on this tour, I asked Max if he would apologise (on behalf of all fair thinking Aussies) to Dougal and all New Zealanders! See the result by clicking on the picture of Max and Dougal. (You might send this e-mail to your Kiwi friends too. I'm sure they will appreciate it!)
We'll talk again next Tuesday.
Sincerely
