When my beloved Millie (the pink and purple eared and tailed Groodle who was the apple of my eye) died last Christmas her last wish was that we replace her with another dog as soon as possible.

Within a matter of a few days we were able to find Kahlee, a rescue dog from a puppy breeding farm where I don’t think she saw the light of day very often. She really can’t have had much free time because by the age of four she had produced 3 litters, the last one being of 13 puppies delivered by Caesarian. Of course, after that operation she was of no value to the farm and that’s why we managed to get her.

We took her home, she walked into our place, stopped, and you could see her think, “How long has this been going on? How long has there been a world like this?” She was gazing at what appeared to be a veritable doggy heaven.

It took Pollie (our resident bordoodle) and me quite a long time to help Kahlee learn to be a dog but she loved every minute of it. And every day she looks at Pollie, me and the rest of the family and says “Thank you, I’m in heaven.”

Everything she does, the whole day long, tells us with great joy how appreciative she is.

And we love her for it too because, although she is a dog, her attitude rubs off on us all.

It’s contagious!

It’s for exactly the same reason that I’m always fantastic no matter what is happening in my world. Simply, when I tell myself I’m fantastic, everything conspires to make me become exactly that.

It’s simply a matter of making every day a great day!

I hope you do too!
