Recently I had some eye surgery done and, afterward, I was instructed to put drops in both eyes, three times a day.

When I was seeing the eye surgeon for a post operation check I asked him whether there was a correct way to put eyedrops in. “Well there might not be a correct way,” he said, “But there is an easy way. I’ll get the nurse to show you.”

Since he does hundreds of eye operations each year, I asked him why he hadn’t already put a how to do it demonstration video on YouTube. He admitted it was a good idea but said he thought there would probably be lots of instructional videos about it already on the web.

“Yes,” I pointed out to him, “But, not from you. I would prefer to see those instructions coming from you, because you are my surgeon and therefore my expert.”

No matter how many people have already posted tons of stuff on YouTube on things about which you have knowledge, it’s always a good idea to post your personal approach to whatever it is. You see, I want to hear it from you because I know, like and respect you and your knowledge. I want it straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak!
