Good morning Fred!

Please forgive me for writing to you out of the blue…

Well, almost out of the blue that is because you may recall that we met some time ago when Bill Smith and yourself were guests for lunch at Brown & Co. which I also attended.

What prompts me to write is that I was talking to Tim Jones the other day and he suggested that I should get in touch with you and arrange a chat in view of the developments that are taking place at Mega Company.

Now I know that you probably have a million things on your mind and much to do and that finding some time for me may be the furtherest thing from your mind. But I reckon that a quiet chat over a brief lunch may well be valuable for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, because I do have a number of senior executives as clients, I may well have a few useful contacts and, depending on your future plans, I’d be happy to arrange some introductions for you.

Secondly, I have been asked to give advice to quite a few executives facing similar circumstances to yourself. Because of that, I may have a number of useful tips that I can pass on and particularly some financial strategies that you should at least be aware of. After all that is my expertise.

In any event we won’t know whether there is any way in which I can help until we meet so I’ll call you in few days to work out a time when we can get together.

Yours sincerely,

PETER
