Following on from my article about how smart Aldi is with their idea of getting people to bring their trolleys right back to the store door (although nevertheless the other day I saw a store where they had collection points like the big expensive boys) I’ve found another example of innovative thinking.

You see yesterday I went down to the lovely Surfcoast town of Anglesea to speak at the local Probus club meeting.

It was held at Anglesea Golf Club where a big mob of kangaroos on the course have been an annoyance to golfers for years (and tourists have ignored personal danger by wandering onto the course to look at them).

But a bit of smart thinking turned those kangaroos from an annoyance into an asset!

Invest $40 and turn your business into a money machine!

Discover the 3 black boxes to get your business really firing!
Get them working for you and start making the money to prematurely retire to the beaches of the world while you are still young and fit enough to enjoy it.

Because tourists, particularly those from Asia, want to see them, they made the decision to cater for them (and eliminate the danger too).

So the club bought a multi-passenger golf buggy and now charges tourist ten bucks a head to enjoy a “guided tour”! And the privilege of buying a coffee and snack in the dining room afterwards!

In the eight months since they started they’ve already paid for the buggy and look like grossing around fifty thousand profit for the club in the first year!

How’s that for turning a negative into a fantastic positive?

Here’s the big question for you.

What have you got lurking in your business that you could transform from ugly duckling to beautiful swan?
