If you’re like most people you like to be given the lowdown, the genuine article, to be told the whole truth and nothing but the truth. And there’s a great word to listen for when a salesperson is endeavouring to sell you something.

The word that signals truth is the word fact. Spend time giving your customers, clients or patients the facts they need and they will love you for it. For example, you could build adverts, articles or brochures that start with headlines like these:

  • Seven Amazing Facts About Garden Care!
  • 3 astonishing facts to make your money go further.
  • The real facts about getting fit.
  • Disturbing facts for anyone planning renovations!
  • Incredible Facts About Attracting the Opposite Sex!
  • The facts about living longer!
  • Before you sell your home you must know these facts.

When you use the word “fact” you telegraph that you are giving honest, effective and relevant information. People love to get the lowdown, the plain simple honest truth or the unvarnished information. So review how you talk to your market to make sure you are giving them the facts. If you do, your clients, customers and your patients… and your bank manager too… will love you. And that’s a fact!
