Well if you strip away the drugs, bad language, sex and all the rest of the salacious stuff and suspend your judgment on the rights and wrongs there are a number of great lessons for business people to take away from award-winning movie “The Wolf of Wall Street”.

  1. The enormous amount of belief he has. Without belief and passion you will achieve very little.
  2. The commitment. Nothing stands in the way of a monomaniac with a mission.
  3. The ability to imbue others with the same belief and passion.
  4. The regular team meetings where the team get an injection of enthusiasm that allows them to fight lions.
  5. It’s all about having a system… a system that people can follow over and over to get predictable results.
  6. Remembering to celebrate success… when you achieve your goals you and the team celebrate!
  7. Most importantly, tell people what to say it and how to say it and achieve amazing results. Everybody had a script which they scrupulously followed… it’s the McDonald’s concept once again.

If you haven’t seen the movie, go see it! As I said, forget the drugs, bad language, sex and all the rest of the salacious stuff, suspend your judgement on the rights and wrongs and the morality and lack thereof.

Just treat it as the best darn training movie you’ll get to see all year.
