It’s said that people who spend a thousand dollars a year or more on their own personal development will earn at least 20% more in their lifetime than those who don’t. The unfortunate fact is that most people stop learning once they leave school unless the boss pays for further training. Use your car as a mobile university and listen to CDs to expand your mind and your skills; program in regular training experiences; avidly read books and attend seminars. The only thing different between you today and you in five years time is the people you meet and the knowledge you acquire!
This week’s challenge is to book yourself into some training, read a new book, or listen to an audio book or podcast. Let us know if you can recommend anything in particular!

I love personal development! I currently have my staff all reading Personality Plus – it’s learning what personality type you are & what other personality types other people are. It helps keep people steady when it’s rough sailing when personality conflicts occur.
Hi Winno,
As a barrister and self-employed your tips aren’t always applicable but this month’s is. You are right, we need to think, plan and do. Doing something different every day is a good way to keep us alert. Regards Lydia K.
Thanks for the comments Lydia and I must bear in mind that I do have some self employed people looking in so I must make many more of my comments more apt for those folk too.
