Challenge: Getting together is fun and valuable

The other night I was privileged to talk to an accountant’s discussion group and it had been years since I had done so last but I really enjoyed it.

Let me explain the principle.

A dozen accountants from different practices in roughly the same geographical area get together once a month to have a meal and hear a guest speaker. It’s a time when they can share ideas, seek opinions and get solutions from their like minded peers who are in different bailiwicks to them. Its a change to just mixing with the same people they see in their office everyday. It’s a revitalizing experience and its one where there’s no worries about competition since there is more than enough business to go around for every accountant.

The meeting I was at was even more enjoyable because it was the Christmas one and they had a Kris Kringle gift giving so that Millie the Groodle walked away with a new dog blanket

My suggestion is that you consider putting together a group of people in similar businesses to yours from non competitive locations so that you can share ideas, inspiration, and enthusiasm. I know a group of dentists who allocate a weekend a year to do this and each participant has reported that it has increased their results and their motivation and enthusiasm for the business dramatically.

Make a resolution now to start one in the New Year!

    Great Idea Winno!

The Chiropractors of the Mornington Peninsula are doing just that – common group, common purpose!

Peninsula Chiropractors United will be up and running very soon!

It’s great to have the comradarie and fellowship to grow as a person and a professional.

  2. Fantastic news Ben, that’s great that you’re gunna do that. It’ll give you the fire-power to get more people seeing chiropractors … and there are plenty of potential patients for all. You’re starting the year on the right foot.
